Maternity and Pediatric Hospital with 200 Beds and New Emergency Department at Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates

The Ministry of Health decided to build a new independent 200-bed hospital for maternity, gynecology, and pediatrics within the Al Qassimi Hospital area. It was also requested to expand the existing hospital’s emergency department to meet the growing needs of the expanding city of Sharjah. The Ministry of Public Works of the United Arab Emirates, which funded the project, appointed Urbanism Planning Architecture as consultant for design and site supervision. The design was developed as a joint venture between UPA (Urbanism Planning Architecture) and General Planning. Progetto MCK handled healthcare planning and medical equipment. UPA with UPA Italia also managed site supervision and final delivery to the client.
