The restyling project of the S-Bahnhof / Regionalbahnhof Flughafen station of Deutsche Bahn aims to enhance spatial quality, optimize passenger flows, and improve service standards in this strategic interchange between rail and airport. The design introduces clearer, more readable environments, updated signage for an international audience, and advanced technologies for flow management, passenger information, and energy efficiency.

A key role is played by Fiandre ceramic surfaces, selected for their high resistance, ease of maintenance, and ability to ensure aesthetic uniformity even in areas with intense foot traffic. The porcelain stoneware slabs—used in transit zones, waiting areas, and connection points—help create a contemporary, clean look while improving the station’s safety, durability, and comfort. Thanks to their technical performance and essential design, Fiandre surfaces become an integral part of the station’s new visual identity, supporting the goal of building an efficient, recognizable, and sustainable transport hub.
