Located in Quanzhou, this private residence designed by Benmo Design studio stands out for itsdesign approach based on formal essentiality, material continuity, and a careful balance betweencontemporary minimalism and domestic warmth. The project interprets living space as a fluid and coherent system, where every element contributes to creating an intimate, sophisticated, and deeply harmonious atmosphere.
The interior design develops through a refined neutral color palette, where light surfaces and natural textures interact with wooden elements and dark details, creating a balanced interplay of contrasts. Natural light, filtered through large openings, becomes an integral part of the architectural composition, enhancing surfaces and amplifying spatial perception.
A key element of the project is the use of porcelain stoneware surfaces, which help define the visual continuity of the interiors. In several areas of the residence, large-format ceramic slabsMegawhite and Megagrey Megalith Maximum, supplied by partner Cremonastone, were selectedfor their ability to combine high technical performance with a contemporary aesthetic of exceptional purity.
These surfaces stand out for their balanced chromatic rendering, a feature that allows the creationof neutral and sophisticated backgrounds onto which furniture and architectural volumes are integrated. In the bathrooms, porcelain stoneware contributes to creating essential and relaxingenvironments, where large slabs enhance total-look solutions involving floors, wall claddings, furnishings, and work surfaces, while interacting with sculptural sanitary elements such as the freestanding bathtub, emphasizing a sense of order and visual cleanliness.
In the kitchen, the material is used to clad the worktop, cabinets, and backsplash, ensuringmaximum aesthetic continuity in dialogue with the architectural space. This design choicestrengthens the perception of uniformity and formal cleanliness, while enhancing hygiene and ease of use.
In service areas and functional spaces, the flooring continues seamlessly, helping to enhance the perception of spatial depth. At the same time, the durability and ease of maintenance of porcelainstoneware perfectly meet the needs of contemporary living.
In the main living areas, the contrast between neutral-toned flooring and dark wood elementscreates a visual balance that gives the spaces an elegant and welcoming character. Large glazedsurfaces establish a constant dialogue between interior and exterior.
The project by Benmo Design therefore represents an example of contemporary living, wherematerials, light, and proportions are carefully orchestrated to create a residential space capable of combining aesthetics, functionality, and sensory quality.
