The Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Centre is one of the largest congress and exhibition complexes in the world, inaugurated in 2016 in St. Petersburg. Located just 10 minutes from Pulkovo Airport, it spans 56 hectares and hosts major international events such as the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Designed by Sergei Tchoban (Tchoban Voss Architekten), Evgeny Gerasimov, and SPEECH studio, the project stands out for its modern and functional architectural language. The main composition features an open arch housing the congress center, two Hilton hotels, and two business centers, creating a striking façade along Peterburgskoe Chaussee.
The exterior surfaces, characterized by amber tones inspired by the famous Amber Room, alternate with large glass panels. A distinctive element is the custom ceramic façades, created using Fiandre’s DYS – Design Your Slabs technology. These surfaces reproduce maps of historic St. Petersburg, turning the cladding into a graphic masterpiece that is weatherproof and UV-resistant.
The exhibition halls are connected by a glass gallery with a wavy roof and circular skylights. The complex offers 100,000 m² of exhibition space, a 3,000-seat congress hall, parking, logistics and customs facilities, and advanced engineering systems. Its architecture combines efficiency, aesthetics, and technology, making it a global benchmark for events.
