The Zephyr Lounge project, designed by The Stella Collective, is a refined “end-of-trip” space for employees at the Memocorp building, 259 George Street, Sydney. It is an innovative concept that combines the practicality of a transition area—for those arriving at the office on foot, by bike, or running—with the luxury and relaxation of a private club or high-end spa.
Occupying approximately 1,000 m² in the basement, Stella Collective transformed what was a dark and anonymous space into an immersive and welcoming environment, featuring 25 private bathroom suites, sophisticated meeting areas, and a luxurious lounge dedicated to wellness and relaxation.
The interior design emphasizes dramatic contrasts and premium materials: green velvet drapes, dark parquet, polished brass, and artisanal furniture create a theatrical yet enveloping atmosphere. The private bathroom suites evoke a Japanese day-spa experience, using warm, therapeutic woods and Japanese-style tiles for a relaxing and meditative experience.
A distinctive element is the custom kitchen, designed and crafted in collaboration with Artedomus, complemented by Calacatta Statuario Maximum surfaces by Fiandre. Artedomus handled every detail of the furniture’s design and construction, ensuring functionality and aesthetic harmony, while Fiandre slabs provide elegance, durability, and a visually refined surface that integrates seamlessly into the lounge’s sophisticated style.
The Stella Collective paid great attention to wellness: every detail is designed to inspire creativity and rejuvenate the user. Even the soundscape is custom-designed, with a flowing soundtrack accompanying different moments of the lounge experience.
With Zephyr Lounge, the studio aimed to bring an unexpected sense of hospitality into the workplace, making the ordinary extraordinary and offering employees a luxurious oasis of calm to recharge, relax, and regain energy.
